For the families whose kids are a lot.

For the mornings that start with bracing for the day. For the families who've stopped going places because the staring got too loud and the apologizing got too tiring. Whether you have a diagnosis, are on a waitlist, suspect something, or have never pursued an assessment at all — your family belongs here.

One Saturday a month, we open our doors. The sensory room. The gym. The outdoors. Coffee for parents. Snacks for kids. A quiet lounge if you need to sit down for ten minutes and not have anyone need you. Our staff handles the floor so you can actually rest.

No agenda. No performance. No judgment.

What to expect

What we're — and aren't — asking of you.

You can

  • Let your kid stim, vocalize, run, climb, retreat
  • Let them have big feelings without explaining anything
  • Step out to the parent lounge for a real break
  • Bring a sibling. We welcome the whole family.
  • Leave whenever works for you. No clock running.
  • Sit quietly with coffee. Or chat with other parents who get it.

You don't have to

  • Apologize for your child
  • Explain a diagnosis or a behaviour
  • Perform "good parenting" for an audience
  • Manage your child's experience for other parents' comfort
  • Stay if it's not working today. We mean it.
  • Bring anything fancy — just comfy clothes and a water bottle
💛 What parents say

Families who found us.

The first place we've been where I didn't have to apologize once. I actually drank my coffee while it was hot. That hasn't happened in three years.

Mom of two, Barrie
My kid ran, screamed, hid under a blanket, and then ate three snacks. Nobody said a word. I cried in the car afterward — the good kind of cry.

Te-Anna's staff already knew what my kid needed before I could explain it. That's the difference. They get it because they built it for kids like ours.

Frequently asked

Questions parents ask.

Do I need a diagnosis or a referral?+
No. None. Sensory Saturdays is open to any family with a child who benefits from a sensory-aware, low-pressure environment. Whether you have a diagnosis, are on a waitlist, suspect something, or have never pursued an assessment at all — you belong here.
How does payment work?+
Payment is taken in person when you arrive — cash, debit, or e-transfer. Nothing to pay online. Your first visit is free. After that: $20 for one child, $30 for two, +$5 per additional sibling.
Can I use SSAH or OAP funding?+
Yes. Ask when you arrive and we'll format your receipt so your funding covers admission. No extra cost, no paperwork on your end.
Do I have to stay the whole time?+
Absolutely not. Leave whenever it works for you. Some families stay 20 minutes, some stay the full 2.5 hours. No clock running.
What if it's not going well that day?+
Go home. Truly. We mean it. You'll be welcomed back next month with no side-eye. This is your kid's day — if today's not the day, another one will be.
Are siblings welcome?+
Yes — the whole family. Family rate is $30 for the first two kids, +$5 per additional sibling. Bring the crew.
Is there a waitlist?+
Our preschool program has a waitlist, yes. Sensory Saturdays does not — we run it monthly with 10-12 spots per session so families can just show up without a 5-year commitment.
